Medical insurance coverage is used to pay for eye exams when:
• There are specific concerns that are medical in nature.
• There is a previously diagnosed medical condition of the eye.
• Health conditions are present that may damage the eye.
Some examples are:
• Lazy Eye
• Crossed Eyes
• Glaucoma
• Diabetes
• High Blood Pressure
• Juvenile Arthritis
• Eye problems related to premature birth
• Autoimmune disease
• Headaches
Usually, you cannot use your routine vision coverage if you are being treated for a medical condition. You will need to bring some documentation from your plan that allows us to bill your plan for your care.
Check with your plan to see if:
• Dr. Waeltermann or Dr. Bomse are in your plan or if you can go to any doctor you choose.
• You need a referral. If you need a referral, please bring the referral to your appointment.
• You have a Specialist copay and the amount of the copay
