Dr. Waeltermann is a Board Certified Pediatric Ophthalmologist and founded the practice in 1986. She is also on the consulting staff of Howard County General Hospital and on the staff of Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Healthsouth St. Agnes Surgery Center. In addition, she is a member of the University of Maryland School of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology, and is a senior attending physician at St. Agnes Hospital. At St. Agnes Hospital she is chief of pediatric ophthalmology and specializes in the eye problems of premature infants. She is also a clinical assistant professor at the University of Maryland Hospital and an instructor at Maryland General Hospital.
Though she prefers treating humans, she was also a consultant to the National Aquarium in Baltimore for fish eye problems. She is a lecturer at a number of area teaching hospitals and has published 13 papers in scientific journals, including eye care and treatment in babies and children, as well as genetic eye problems. In her spare time she is an award-winning knitter. She resides in Owings Mills with her husband and two sons, neither one of whom has yet committed to a career in medicine.

Dr. Bomse joined the practice in 1999 after completing her residency training in hospital-based optometry and ocular disease at the Baltimore Veteran's Medical Center and training at the world-famous Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she cared for cornea, cataract and refractive surgery patients.
Licensed to practice in three states (Florida, Pennsylvania and Maryland), her experience and skills are considerably deeper than most optometrists, with a strong background in the diagnosis, assessment and management of eye disease as well as contact lens fittings. Only about 10% of all optometrists have completed residency training, and her experience at the Wilmer Eye Institute gave her experience and expertise beyond the what most optometrists possess. She lives in Owings Mills with her husband, son and two dogs.
